Does anyone have a contact(s) in the Harrisburg area for a residential architect or engineer that believes in building science?  I (homeowner/ client) am tired of fighting.  If I have one more professional try to explain to me why houses need to breathe, why it’s fine to run ducting though unconditioned space, why a vented rainscreen behind Hardie would cause more problems than it solves, why continuous exterior insulation is unnecessary, or why subslab insulation in a basement is a waste of money*, I think my head is going to explode.  

 

*I might be wrong on some of my above opinions, and would be willing to change them if someone could actually give me good reasons to, but so far the arguments basically consist of “because we’ve always done it that way.”
